Company History
The Town of Hilton Head Island was incorporated as a municipality in 1983. Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue began operations July 1, 1993 as a consolidation of the former Sea Pines Forest Beach Fire Department, the Hilton Head Fire District and the Hilton Head Island Rescue Squad.
Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue provides fire suppression, ALS transport - emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials and technical rescue services to the community. We manage our own Enhanced-911 Communications Center, Bureau of Fire Prevention, Safety and Professional Development division, vehicle maintenance facility, and provide emergency management for the Town.
Among Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue's outstanding achievements are:
